A vulnerability was found in Omnikey.aaitg Omnikey CardMan 4040 up to 2.6.x. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function read. Multiple buffer overflows in the (1) read and (2) write handlers in the Omnikey CardMan 4040 driver in the Linux kernel before 2.6.21-rc3 allow local users to gain privileges.
The bug was discovered 03/06/2007. The weakness was disclosed 03/07/2007 by Daniel Roethlisberger with Compass Security (Website). The advisory is available at kernel.org.
