Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in TandoorRecipes recipes up to 2.6.3. This affects the function ShoppingListEntry.objects.create of the file /api/food/{id}/shopping/. The manipulation of the argument amount with an unknown input leads to a authorization vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-639. The system's authorization functionality does not prevent one user from gaining access to another user's data or record by modifying the key value identifying the data. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Tandoor Recipes is an application for managing recipes, planning meals, and building shopping lists. Prior to 2.6.4, the POST /api/food/{id}/shopping/ endpoint reads amount and unit directly from request.data and passes them without validation to ShoppingListEntry.objects.create(). Invalid amount values (non-numeric strings) cause an unhandled exception and HTTP 500. A unit ID from a different Space can be associated cross-space, leaking foreign-key references across tenant boundaries. All other endpoints creating ShoppingListEntry use ShoppingListEntrySerializer, which validates and sanitizes these fields. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.6.4.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-35489 since 04/02/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
Upgrading to version 2.6.4 eliminates this vulnerability.
