Affected by this issue is the function latepoint_resources of the component Shortcode Handler. The manipulation of the argument button_caption with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-79. The LatePoint – Calendar Booking Plugin for Appointments and Events plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'button_caption' parameter in the [latepoint_resources] shortcode in versions up to and including 5.3.0. This is due to insufficient output escaping when the 'items' parameter is set to 'bundles'. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
The weakness was presented by Djaidja Moundjid. The advisory is shared for download at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-4785 since 03/24/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
