Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Zammad up to 6.5.3/7.0.0. This affects some unknown processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Zammad is a web based open source helpdesk/customer support system. Prior to 7.0.1 and 6.5.4, the webhook model was missing a proper validation for loop back addresses, or link-local addresses — only the URL scheme (HTTP/HTTPS) as well as the hostname was checked. This could end up in retrieving confidential metadata of cloud/hosting providers. The existing check is now extended and is applied when configuring webhooks as well as triggering webhook jobs. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.0.1 and 6.5.4.
