Details
A vulnerability was found in chrisbadgett LifterLMS Plugin up to 9.2.1 on WordPress. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function edit_post. The manipulation of the argument order with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The LifterLMS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the 'order' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 9.2.1. This is due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Instructor-level access and above who have the edit_post capability on the quiz, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
