The LLTD Responder in Microsoft Windows Vista does not send the Mapper a response to a DISCOVERY packet if another host has sent a spoofed response first, which allows remote attackers to spoof arbitrary hosts via a network-based race condition, aka the "Total Spoof" attack.
The weakness was disclosed 03/13/2007 by Ollie Whitehouse (Website). The advisory is available at symantec.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-1529 since 03/19/2007. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
