Details
A vulnerability has been found in SQL-Ledger 2.6.27 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file am.pl. The manipulation of the argument login with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in am.pl in SQL-Ledger 2.6.27 only checks for the presence of a NULL (%00) character to protect against directory traversal attacks, which allows remote attackers to run arbitrary executables and bypass authentication via a .. (dot dot) sequence in the login parameter.
