A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Webwizguide Web Wiz Forums up to 8.x (Forum Software). This issue affects the function formatSQLInput of the file functions/functions_filters.asp of the component Filters. The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in functions/functions_filters.asp in Web Wiz Forums before 8.05a (MySQL version) does not properly filter certain characters in SQL commands, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via \" (backslash double-quote quote) sequences, which are collapsed into \ , as demonstrated via the name parameter to forum/pop_up_member_search.asp.
