A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in weblate up to 5.16. This affects some unknown functionality of the component Setting Handler. The manipulation of the argument ALLOWED_ASSET_DOMAINS with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. Weblate is a web based localization tool. In versions prior to 5.17, the ALLOWED_ASSET_DOMAINS setting applied only to the first issued requests and didn't restrict possible redirects. This issue has been fixed in version 5.17.
