CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in FirebirdSQL Firebird up to 3.0.13/4.0.6/5.0.3. This issue affects the function sdl_desc. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a divide by zero vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-369. The product divides a value by zero. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:

Firebird is an open-source relational database management system. In versions prior to 5.0.4, 4.0.7 and 3.0.14, the sdl_desc() function does not validate the length of a decoded SDL descriptor from a slice packet. A zero-length descriptor is later used to calculate the number of slice items, causing a division by zero. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a crafted slice packet to crash the server. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.0.4, 4.0.7 and 3.0.14.

It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-35215 since 04/01/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy.
