A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in NetSieben SSH Library up to 1.2.0 (Software Library). Affected is the function ne7sshsftp::addopenhandle of the file ne7ssh_sftp.cpp of the component SFTP Server. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Buffer overflow in the Ne7sshSftp::addOpenHandle function in ne7ssh_sftp.cpp in NetSieben SSH Library (ne7ssh) before 1.2.1 allows user-assisted remote SFTP servers to cause a denial of service (crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via multiple file transfers, related to multiple open file handles in SFTP (1) put and (2) get operations.
The bug was discovered 03/23/2007. The weakness was disclosed 02/08/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at osvdb.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2007-1654 since 03/23/2007.
