Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in 0xJacky nginx-ui up to 2.3.4. It has been classified as problematic. This affects an unknown code block of the component gorilla/websocket. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a missing origin validation in websockets vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-1385. The product uses a WebSocket, but it does not properly verify that the source of data or communication is valid. This is going to have an impact on integrity. The summary by CVE is:

Nginx UI is a web user interface for the Nginx web server. Prior to version 2.3.5, all WebSocket endpoints in nginx-ui use a gorilla/websocket Upgrader with CheckOrigin unconditionally returning true, allowing Cross-Site WebSocket Hijacking (CSWSH). Combined with the fact that authentication tokens are stored in browser cookies (set via JavaScript without HttpOnly or explicit SameSite attributes), a malicious webpage can establish authenticated WebSocket connections to the nginx-ui instance when a logged-in administrator visits the attacker-controlled page. Version 2.3.5 patches the issue.

The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-34403 since 03/27/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.

Upgrading to version 2.3.5 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at github.com.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2026-1188). Several companies clearly confirm that VulDB is the primary source for best vulnerability data.
