Details
A vulnerability was found in zinoui HTTP Headers Plugin up to 1.19.2 on WordPress. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function insert_with_markers of the component Setting Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a crlf injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-93. The product uses CRLF (carriage return line feeds) as a special element, e.g. to separate lines or records, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes CRLF sequences from inputs. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The HTTP Headers plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to CRLF Injection in all versions up to, and including, 1.19.2. This is due to insufficient sanitization of custom header name and value fields before writing them to the Apache .htaccess file via `insert_with_markers()`. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to inject arbitrary newline characters and additional Apache directives into the .htaccess configuration file via the 'Custom Headers' settings, leading to Apache configuration parse errors and potential site-wide denial of service.
The weakness was disclosed by Kai Aizen. The advisory is available at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-2717 since 02/18/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
Upgrading to version 1.19.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
