A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in MadWifi 0.9.2 (Wireless LAN Software). This issue affects the function ieee80211_input. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-404. MadWifi, when Ad-Hoc mode is used, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (system crash) via unspecified vectors that lead to a kernel panic in the ieee80211_input function, related to "packets coming from a malicious WinXP system."
