CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in thexerteproject xerteonlinetoolkits up to 3.13.0/3.14.0/3.15.0. Affected by this issue is the function rename of the file /editor/elfinder/php/connector.php of the component elFinder Connector Endpoint. The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Xerte Online Toolkits versions 3.15 and earlier contain a relative path traversal vulnerability in the elFinder connector endpoint at /editor/elfinder/php/connector.php where the name parameter in rename commands is not sanitized for path traversal sequences. Attackers can supply a name value containing directory traversal sequences to move files from project media directories to arbitrary locations on the filesystem, potentially overwriting application files, achieving stored cross-site scripting, or combining with other vulnerabilities to achieve unauthenticated remote code execution by moving PHP code files to the application root.

The advisory is shared for download at xerte.org.uk. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-34414 since 03/27/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.
