Details
A vulnerability was found in Keycloak (affected version not known) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function checkAccountApiEnabled of the file /account/v1alpha1 of the component Account REST API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a direct request vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-425. The web application does not adequately enforce appropriate authorization on all restricted URLs, scripts, or files. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
When Keycloak is started with `--features-disabled=account,account-api`, the Account REST API is only partially disabled. Five endpoints under the versioned path `/account/v1alpha1` remain fully functional — including both read and write operations — because they lack the `checkAccountApiEnabled()` gate that correctly blocks four other endpoints in the same REST service class. The user needs to have permissions to use the API.
