A vulnerability was found in Ipsec-tools 0.6.2. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function isakmp_info_recv. The isakmp_info_recv function in src/racoon/isakmp_inf.c in racoon in Ipsec-tools before 0.6.7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (tunnel crash) via crafted (1) DELETE (ISAKMP_NPTYPE_D) and (2) NOTIFY (ISAKMP_NPTYPE_N) messages.
The bug was discovered 04/09/2007. The weakness was presented 04/10/2007 with Apple (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at sourceforge.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-1841 since 04/03/2007. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
