Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in HashiCorp Boundary and Boundary Enterprise up to 0.19.4/0.20.2/0.21.2. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Node Enrollment TLS Handshake Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a allocation of resources vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-770. The product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated, in violation of the intended security policy for that actor. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
Boundary Community Edition and Boundary Enterprise (“Boundary”) workers are vulnerable to a denial-of-service condition during node enrollment TLS handshakes. An attacker with network access to the worker authentication listener may open a connection and delay or withhold the client certificate during the TLS handshake, causing worker connection handling to block. This may prevent legitimate worker connections from being accepted or routed. This vulnerability, CVE-2026-7776, is fixed in Boundary 0.21.3, 0.20.3, 0.19.5.
