Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.135/6.12.82/6.18.23/6.19.13. Affected is the function btrfs_sync_file of the component btrfs. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a denial of service vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-404. The product does not release or incorrectly releases a resource before it is made available for re-use. This is going to have an impact on availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: tracepoints: get correct superblock from dentry in event btrfs_sync_file() If overlay is used on top of btrfs, dentry->d_sb translates to overlay's super block and fsid assignment will lead to a crash. Use file_inode(file)->i_sb to always get btrfs_sb.
