Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.18.18/6.19.8. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function amdgpu_userq_signal_ioctl. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. The impact remains unknown. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: add upper bound check on user inputs in signal ioctl Huge input values in amdgpu_userq_signal_ioctl can lead to a OOM and could be exploited. So check these input value against AMDGPU_USERQ_MAX_HANDLES which is big enough value for genuine use cases and could potentially avoid OOM.
