Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in becheran grid up to 1.0.0. This affects the function Grid::expand_rows of the component Safe API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-190. The product performs a calculation that can produce an integer overflow or wraparound, when the logic assumes that the resulting value will always be larger than the original value. This can introduce other weaknesses when the calculation is used for resource management or execution control. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
Grid is a data structure grid for rust. From version 0.17.0 to before version 1.0.1, an integer overflow in Grid::expand_rows() can corrupt the relationship between the grid’s logical dimensions and its backing storage. After the internal invariant is broken, the safe API get() may invoke get_unchecked() with an invalid index, resulting in Undefined Behavior. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.1.
