Details
A vulnerability was found in Casdoor up to 2.328.0. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
An arbitrary file write vulnerability exists in Casdoor's Local File System storage provider. Due to insufficient path sanitization, an authenticated attacker with administrative privileges can perform a Path Traversal attack to create or overwrite arbitrary files anywhere on the host filesystem, bypassing the application's intended storage sandbox.
The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-6815 since 04/21/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
