Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in pocket-id Pocket ID up to 2.5.x. Affected by this issue is the function createTokenFromRefreshToken of the component Refresh Token Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authorization vulnerability. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Pocket ID is an OIDC provider that allows users to authenticate with their passkeys to your services. Prior to 2.6.0, The createTokenFromRefreshToken function (oidc_service.go) validates the refresh token's cryptographic integrity but does not re-validate the user's current authorization state before issuing new tokens. This allows (1) the client to refresh the token indefinitely after authorization revocation, (2) the refresh token to continue to work after the account is disabled, and (3) the token to work after the client is removed from the group. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.6.0.

The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-43983 since 05/04/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1548.002.

Upgrading to version 2.6.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
