Details
A vulnerability was found in phpMyAdmin (Database Administration Software). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown function. The manipulation of the argument $_REQUEST with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-352. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
phpMyAdmin before 2.11.5 accesses $_REQUEST to obtain some parameters instead of $_GET and $_POST, which allows attackers in the same domain to override certain variables and conduct SQL injection and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks by using crafted cookies.
The bug was discovered 03/01/2008. The weakness was presented 03/03/2008 by Richard Cunningham (Website). The advisory is shared at phpmyadmin.net. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2008-1149 since 03/04/2008. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details and a exploit are known.
