A vulnerability has been found in News Manager Deluxe 1.0.1 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the file includes/footer.php. The manipulation of the argument template with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in includes/footer.php in News Manager Deluxe (NMDeluxe) 1.0.1 allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the template parameter.
The weakness was released 04/15/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at vupen.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-2303 since 04/26/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely.
