A vulnerability was found in Easy Software Products CUPS (Printing Software) and classified as critical. Unknown vulnerability in the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) implementation in CUPS before 1.1.19 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption from a "busy loop") via certain inputs to the IPP port (TCP 631).
The bug was discovered 06/24/2003. The weakness was published 11/03/2003 by Paul Mitcheson (Website). The advisory is shared at cups.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2003-0788 since 09/17/2003. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
