Details
A vulnerability has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.18.13/6.19.3 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function amdxdna_ubuf_map of the component amdxdna. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/amdxdna: Fix memory leak in amdxdna_ubuf_map The amdxdna_ubuf_map() function allocates memory for sg and internal sg table structures, but it fails to free them if subsequent operations (sg_alloc_table_from_pages or dma_map_sgtable) fail.
The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-45908 since 05/13/2026. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
Upgrading to version 6.18.14 or 6.19.4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 5a68d2c99c859e6e8e36fa4e32749abf6d1fb66a/f9f4366d2ff93b07c2571561c776bd9a708078c3/84dd57fb0359500092f1101409ca32091731490d is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
