Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.127/6.12.74/6.18.13/6.19.3. This vulnerability affects the function vm_insert_page of the component PCI/P2PDMA. The impact remains unknown. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI/P2PDMA: Release per-CPU pgmap ref when vm_insert_page() fails When vm_insert_page() fails in p2pmem_alloc_mmap(), p2pmem_alloc_mmap() doesn't invoke percpu_ref_put() to free the per-CPU ref of pgmap acquired after gen_pool_alloc_owner(), and memunmap_pages() will hang forever when trying to remove the PCI device. Fix it by adding the missed percpu_ref_put().
The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-45880 since 05/13/2026. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/26/2026).
