Opera before 9.27 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted newsfeed source, which triggers an invalid memory access.
The weakness was disclosed 04/03/2008 by Michal Zalewski (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at opera.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2008-1761 since 04/12/2008. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
