A vulnerability was found in Wavelink Media TutorialCMS 1.00. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the file browsecat.php. The manipulation of the argument search with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in TutorialCMS (aka Photoshop Tutorials) 1.00 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) catFile parameter to (a) browseCat.php or (b) browseSubCat.php; the (2) id parameter to (c) openTutorial.php, (d) topFrame.php, or (e) admin/editListing.php; or the (3) search parameter to search.php.
The weakness was shared 05/09/2007 by Silent (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-2600 since 05/11/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
A public exploit has been developed in Perl and been published even before and not after the advisory. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as highly functional. By approaching the search of inurl:browsecat.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
