Progress LoadMaster API command injection

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Progress LoadMaster, ECS Connections Manager, Object Scale Connection Manager and MOVEit WAF (version now known). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

OS Command Injection Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in API in Progress ADC Products allows an un-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the LoadMaster appliance by exploiting unsanitized input in multiple command endpoints

The weakness was disclosed by Jacky Yang and Syed Ibrahim Ahmed. The advisory is shared for download at community.progress.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-8037 since 05/06/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1202.

It is declared as attacked. This issue was added on 08/07/2026 to the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog with a due date of 08/10/2026:

Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BO

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.
