Details
A vulnerability has been found in Vmware Spring Retry up to 1.3.4/2.0.12 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a allocation of resources vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-770. The product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated, in violation of the intended security policy for that actor. As an impact it is known to affect availability. The summary by CVE is:
An attacker can craft a large number of unique requests that trigger a failure, exhausting the capacity of the application-wide stateful retry cache. Once the cache is full, it permanently rejects any further updates, causing all later stateful retries and circuit breakers in the application to fail. Affected versions: Spring Retry 2.0.0 through 2.0.12; 1.3.0 through 1.3.4.
