Buffer overflow in the HelpPopup method in the Microsoft Office 2000 Controllo UA di Microsoft Office ActiveX control (OUACTRL.OCX) 1.0.1.9 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (probably winhlp32.exe crash) via a long first argument. NOTE: it is not clear whether this issue crosses privilege boundaries.
The bug was discovered 05/23/2007. The weakness was published 05/23/2007 by shinnai (Website). The advisory is available at shinnai.altervista.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-2903 since 05/29/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
