Details
A vulnerability was found in PEVANS Metrics::Any::Adapter::SignalFx up to 0.03 on Perl. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function _labels of the component Control Character Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a crlf injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-93. The product uses CRLF (carriage return line feeds) as a special element, e.g. to separate lines or records, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes CRLF sequences from inputs. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Metrics::Any::Adapter::SignalFx versions before 0.04 for Perl does not protect against metric injections. The statsd protocol (and extensions such as dogstatsd) allow mutiple metrics, separated by newlines, to be sent per packet. Metrics::Any::Adapter::SignalFx which extends Metrics::Any::Adapter::Statsd, which has a similar vulnerability. In addition, the _labels function does not check tags labels newlines or statsd control characters. The labels can be used for metric injections.
