Details
A vulnerability was found in Apache CXF up to 4.1.6/4.2.1 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function DispatchMDBMessageListenerImpl of the component JNDI Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A JNDI Injection vulnerability has been discovered in Apache CXF's JCA integration module, which can allow for code execution, if an attacker is able to manipulate the JCA deployment descriptor (ra.xml) or runtime activation parameters. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.2 or 4.1.7, which fixes this issue.
