Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Imagination Graphics DDK up to 1.18 RTM/23.2 RTM/24.2 RTM/25.3 RTM/26.1 RTM. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component GPU user-space Driver. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds write vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-787. The product writes data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A web page that contains unusual WebGPU content loaded into the GPU GLES render process and can trigger an out-of-bound write in the GPU user-space driver, leading to memory corruption and possible browser/GPU process crash. The software computes a required memory size from untrusted input, but integer overflow can produce a value smaller than needed. Subsequent write operations may then occur past the intended memory boundary, corrupting adjacent memory and causing process instability or termination.
The advisory is shared at imaginationtech.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-41157 since 04/17/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
Upgrading to version 26.2 RTM eliminates this vulnerability.
