Details
A vulnerability has been found in Angular up to 19.2.25 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the component Authorization Token Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Angular is a development platform for building mobile and desktop web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and other languages. Prior to 22.0.1, 21.2.17, and 20.3.25, an information disclosure vulnerability exists in the @angular/service-worker package of the Angular framework. When the Service Worker fetches assets, it preserves metadata (such as headers) from the original request. However, on cross-origin redirects, the Service Worker fails to strip sensitive headers, violating the Fetch redirect algorithm. This allows a remote attacker to obtain sensitive credentials (e.g., Authorization tokens, Proxy-Authorization credentials, or session cookies) by triggering a cross-origin redirect to an untrusted external origin. This vulnerability is fixed in 22.0.1, 21.2.17, and 20.3.25.
The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-54264 since 06/12/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
Upgrading to version 20.0.0-next.0 20.3.25, 21.0.0-next.0 21.2.17 or 22.0.0-next.0 22.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
