CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Linux Kernel up to 7.0.10. Affected is the function batadv_tp_sender_shutdown of the component batman-adv. The manipulation of the argument negative with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: batman-adv: fix tp_meter counter underflow during shutdown batadv_tp_sender_shutdown() unconditionally decrements the "sending" atomic counter. If multiple paths (e.g. timeout, user cancel, and normal finish) call this function, the counter can underflow to -1. Since the sender logic treats any non-zero value as "still sending", a negative value causes the sender kthread to loop indefinitely. This leads to a use-after-free when the interface is removed while the zombie thread is still active. Fix this by using atomic_xchg() to ensure the counter only transitions from 1 to 0 once. [sven: added missing change in batadv_tp_send]

The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-52919 since 06/09/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/24/2026).

Upgrading to version 5.10.258, 5.15.209, 6.1.175, 6.6.142, 6.12.92, 6.18.34 or 7.0.11 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch e75e2ab463b5b34df6b98f94d740aff327ce9f6b/abae88fa254f2981d39ac003a7b302528a22af64/c66d20a3ff095e3f000551d208ec2606616db15c/c1bac194733aabd731aafa6a01350c229e187dba/01cefc5923889e29dbb5f281c3d457714ceb9c00/90ae3eae06b7b8ab9f6250b9497c860915b4c17b/aeae11c5dad9cd0d50723890bdd866f8e6db2e7d/94f3b133168d1c49895e7cc6afbcf1cc0b354602 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
