A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Elxis CMS 2006.1/2006.2/2006.3/2006.4 (Content Management System). This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file mod_banners.php of the component mod_banners.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in mod_banners.php in Elxis CMS before 2006.4 20070613 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the mb_tracker cookie. NOTE: the product was patched without updating the version number; later downloads of 2006.4 are not affected.

The weakness was published 06/14/2007 by Nico Leidecker (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-3250 since 06/18/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
