GeoVision GV-LPCLPC2011/GV-LPCLPC2211 up to 1.12 Multipart Upload IEEE8021x_upload.cgi buffer overflow

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in GeoVision GV-LPCLPC2011 and GV-LPCLPC2211 up to 1.12. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the file IEEE8021x_upload.cgi of the component Multipart Upload Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a buffer overflow vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-120. The product copies an input buffer to an output buffer without verifying that the size of the input buffer is less than the size of the output buffer, leading to a buffer overflow. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:

An unauthenticated buffer overflow vulnerability exists in IEEE8021x_upload.cgi in GeoVision GV-LPC2011 and GV-LPC2211 V1.12 and earlier. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient bounds checking when parsing filename values in multipart upload data. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted upload request with overly long input, causing memory corruption and resulting in a denial of service.

The weakness was presented by Le Yu and Jincheng Wang. The advisory is available at geovision.com.tw. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-57874 since 06/26/2026.
