A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Wireshark 0.99.5 (Packet Analyzer Software). This issue affects an unknown functionality. Off-by-one error in the DHCP/BOOTP dissector in Wireshark before 0.99.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via crafted DHCP-over-DOCSIS packets.
The bug was discovered 06/27/2007. The weakness was released 07/05/2007 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at wireshark.org.
