Details
A vulnerability was found in coollabsio coolify up to 4.0.0-beta.463 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function executeInDocker of the component Docker Container Handler. The manipulation of the argument command with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Coolify is an open-source and self-hostable tool for managing servers, applications, and databases. Prior to 4.0.0-beta.464, the executeInDocker() helper wraps commands in bash -c '{$command}' without escaping single quotes. User-controlled docker_compose_custom_build_command and docker_compose_custom_start_command fields are interpolated directly, allowing a single quote to break out of the bash -c argument and execute commands on the managed server host (outside the intended Docker container context). This vulnerability is fixed in 4.0.0-beta.464.
The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-27955 since 02/25/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploitation needs additional levels of successful authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1202 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 4.0.0-beta.464 eliminates this vulnerability.
