Details
A vulnerability was found in rtcamp rtMedia Plugin up to 4.6.18 and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the component Query Handler. The manipulation of the argument order_by with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The rtMedia for WordPress, BuddyPress and bbPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the order_by parameter in all versions up to, and including, 4.6.18 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
