A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in getgrav grav up to 1.1.x. Affected by this issue is the function __call of the component Database Plugin. The manipulation of the argument host/dbname/charset/server/database/directory/filename with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
grav-plugin-database is the database plugin for Grav CMS. Prior to 1.2.0, Database::__call builds PDO DSN strings by directly concatenating user-configurable YAML values from fields such as host, dbname, charset, server, database, directory, and filename without sanitization or validation, allowing an administrator with plugin configuration access to inject DSN attributes or path traversal values. This issue is fixed in version 1.2.0.
