A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in KDE konqueror 3.5.7 (Web Browser). Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the file konqueror/konq_combo.cc of the component Address Bar. konqueror/konq_combo.cc in Konqueror 3.5.7 allows remote attackers to spoof the data: URI scheme in the address bar via a long URI with trailing whitespace, which prevents the beginning of the URI from being displayed.
The weakness was published 07/13/2007 by Robert Swiecki (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-3820 since 07/16/2007. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 67573 (Oracle Linux 4 / 5 : kdebase (ELSA-2007-0905)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
