Details
A vulnerability has been found in cleverplugins SEO Booster Plugin up to 7.3.1 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component SQL Query Handler. The manipulation of the argument sort_field with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The SEO Booster plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via the 'sort_field' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.3.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database.
