A vulnerability has been found in lighttpd 1.4.15 (Web Server) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the file http_auth.c of the component mod_auth. mod_auth (http_auth.c) in lighttpd before 1.4.16 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via unspecified vectors involving (1) a memory leak, (2) use of md5-sess without a cnonce, (3) base64 encoded strings, and (4) trailing whitespace in the Auth-Digest header.
The bug was discovered 06/15/2007. The weakness was presented 06/15/2007 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at secunia.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2007-3946 since 07/23/2007.
