A vulnerability has been found in Emlog up to 2.6.13 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function addslashes of the file admin/user.php of the component Admin Backend User Search Module. Emlog is an open source website building system. In 2.6.13 and earlier, the admin backend user search module's keyword parameter from admin/user.php is processed with addslashes but not HTML-escaped before being rendered into the value attribute in admin/views/user.php, allowing reflected cross-site scripting in an administrator's backend session. No fixed version is currently identified.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-46686 since 05/15/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are necessary for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
