CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Summaryinfo

A vulnerability identified as very critical has been detected in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.144/6.12.95/6.18.38/7.1.3. Affected is the function __mms114_read_reg of the component mms114. The manipulation leads to array index. This vulnerability is listed as CVE-2026-64272. The attack must be carried out locally. There is no available exploit.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.144/6.12.95/6.18.38/7.1.3 and classified as very critical. This issue affects the function __mms114_read_reg of the component mms114. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a array index vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-129. The product uses untrusted input when calculating or using an array index, but the product does not validate or incorrectly validates the index to ensure the index references a valid position within the array. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Input: mms114 - fix touch indexing for MMS134S and MMS136 The MMS134S and MMS136 touch controllers have an event size of 6 bytes rather than 8 bytes. When __mms114_read_reg() reads the touch data packet from the device into the touch buffer, the events are packed tightly at 6-byte intervals. However, the driver iterates through the events using standard C array indexing (touch[index]), where each element is sizeof(struct mms114_touch) (8 bytes) apart. As a result, any touch events beyond the first one are read from incorrect offsets and parsed improperly. Fix this by explicitly calculating the byte offset for each touch event based on the device's specific event size.

It is possible to read the advisory at git.kernel.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-64272 since 07/19/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 07/25/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.6.145, 6.12.96, 6.18.39, 7.1.4 or 7.2-rc1 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 112666835071d935fef764aab590339e97216d4a/7c00a0787af7164438bdbc97fcae9733cfc58d21/75b12874b4172533b9efc349db328cb1a59c3981/a747c4eb02656afdbd92eea83b88e92715a23977/a6ac4e24c1a8a533bb61035184fdcc7eede4cc8d is able to eliminate this problem.
