Linux Kernel up to 7.2-rc2 digi_acceleport resource consumption

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Linux Kernel up to 7.2-rc2. Affected is an unknown function of the component digi_acceleport. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a resource consumption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-400. The product does not properly control the allocation and maintenance of a limited resource, thereby enabling an actor to influence the amount of resources consumed, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources. This is going to have an impact on availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: digi_acceleport: fix broken rx after throttle If the port is closed while throttled, the read urb is never resubmitted and the port will not receive any further data until the device is reconnected (or the driver is rebound). Clear the throttle flags and submit the urb if needed when opening the port.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-64335 since 07/19/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 07/25/2026). The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1499.
